Lagrange Hills

Lagrange Hills

The five Lagrange points are hilltops. Roll up, balance on each peak, and clear all five.

How to play

  • Your satellite rolls like a ball across a 3D landscape, and the view follows it. The Sun and Earth are deep pits, and the five Lagrange points (L1 to L5) are hilltops.
  • Drag anywhere on the game like a joystick to fire your thrusters: the direction you drag is the way you push, and the farther you drag, the harder. Thrusters burn fuel, which refills while you coast.
  • Hold near the top of a peak to fill its ring. Fill the ring to clear that point and earn its check mark. The longer you stay up there in one go, the faster you score.
  • Clear all five to win, with a bonus for speed. Fall into the Sun or Earth three times and the mission ends.

Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD to thrust, P to pause.

The real thing. In space, L1, L2 and L3 are unstable: a craft parked there drifts off unless it keeps nudging itself back. That's why spacecraft at L1 and L2 carry fuel for stationkeeping. Here every peak is a balancing act, but the broad L4 and L5 peaks are gentler, like the real ones.
